Potato, a London and San Francisco-based digital product studio, needed a single CI and workflow platform to replace a patchwork of tools (including Codebase) that lacked merge request workflows, CI, and effective cross-team issue tracking. To give developers, designers, and clients one place for planning, reviews, and deployments, Potato selected GitLab (using GitLab CI / GitLab Gold) as its unified platform.

GitLab provided integrated code hosting, issue tracking and CI/CD with Google Cloud Platform integration, enabling designers to move onto the same system and removing the need for custom integrations. The result: 100% of projects on GitLab, over 6,000 deployments in the past six months, 856 projects and roughly 1,200 accepted merge requests, reduced tool maintenance and monthly cost savings, and much greater transparency and collaboration with clients thanks to GitLab.
