A GitLab Case Study
Hemmersbach, a global IT service provider with 3,400 employees operating across 38 subsidiaries in more than 190 countries, was hampered by a fragmented toolchain (Jira, Jenkins, Tulip and others), poor traceability and slow, manual build processes. After using GitLab Core and seeing the benefits of connected issues and code, Hemmersbach engaged GitLab and adopted GitLab Ultimate to solve collaboration and speed problems.
Using GitLab (including GitLab Ultimate) they rebuilt their process, unified CI/CD, portfolio planning and code review in one platform and moved to feature-driven development. The change delivered measurable results: build throughput jumped (~59x, from a single daily build to ~60 builds/day), idea-to-production time fell by 6.5 days (45 → 38.5 days) for a 14.4% cycle-time improvement, 212 ideas were completed (a 31% increase), and they now run 530 automated tests and ~30 automated deploys daily.
