XING - Customer Case Study

Xing, the European professional networking company, faced the challenge of coordinating a growing distributed engineering organization while managing code, documentation, QA, hiring, and mobile release workflows. The team adopted GitHub nearly a decade ago to replace older version control tools and support collaborative software development across locations and functions.

GitHub helped Xing centralize code reviews, release management, documentation, onboarding, and internal knowledge sharing in one searchable platform. The company also integrated GitHub with more than 2,000 hooks and Jenkins, used GitHub Pages and the GitHub API for documentation and coding challenges, and open sourced about 200 projects. The result was faster collaboration, better discoverability, and a more flexible engineering culture built around autonomy and feedback, with measurable scale shown by tens of thousands of issue and pull request comments.
