Case Study: Vodafone achieves 4x developer productivity with GitHub

A GitHub Case Study

Preview of the Vodafone Case Study

Vodafone builds connections around the world with GitHub and Microsoft’s Azure DevOps

Vodafone, one of the world’s largest telecom companies, needed to improve collaboration across more than 9,000 developers working in 12 countries. Its teams were using different tools and working in silos, which created inefficiencies and duplicated work. Vodafone turned to GitHub Enterprise, together with Microsoft Azure DevOps, to support its agile transformation and unify development practices.

GitHub helped Vodafone standardize on a shared DevOps platform with GitHub Actions, pull requests, GitHub Pages, Issues, and managed access controls, enabling a global end-to-end DevSecOps workflow. The results included a fourfold increase in developer productivity, about 40% faster delivery for global web engineering, and an expected 50% reduction in time to delivery for app engineering. Vodafone also created reusable internal components and code libraries, cut onboarding time by at least a week per new hire, and accelerated delivery across markets.
