Synergy, Western Australia’s largest energy retailer and generator, needed to unify previously siloed development teams working on portals, forecasting models, and energy trading software as the energy sector rapidly shifted toward renewables. The company turned to GitHub, specifically GitHub Enterprise Cloud, to centralize development resources and support faster, more collaborative software delivery.

GitHub helped Synergy consolidate codebases, automate builds and security checks with GitHub Actions and Dependabot, strengthen protection with GitHub Advanced Security and Organizational Permissions, and speed onboarding with Codespaces. The results included fewer manual processes, improved collaboration, and stronger security; notably, Dependabot helped Synergy find and patch more than 60 packages in one portal alone.
