Societe Generale’s open IT infrastructure brings more solutions and innovation to the table

Societe Generale, the French banking and financial services company, was facing the challenge of modernizing its IT and software development processes while meeting strict security requirements and reducing delays caused by legacy workflows and siloed teams. To speed up delivery and improve collaboration, the company turned to GitHub Enterprise as part of its digital transformation and DevSecOps efforts.

Using GitHub, Societe Generale built a self-service, open development platform that integrated with tools like Jenkins, SonarQube, and Docker, while also supporting secure on-premises management. GitHub helped the bank automate workflows, triple releases, cut development time by more than half, and increase production releases by 215% without major incidents; adoption grew to more than 9,000 employees worldwide.
