Arduino, the open source hardware and software company behind popular microcontroller boards and kits, needed a way to manage a fast-growing global maker community and coordinate open collaboration across thousands of contributors. Using GitHub, Arduino runs development, issue tracking, and community feedback in one place while supporting both internal teams and external contributors.

GitHub helped Arduino automate workflows with GitHub Actions, streamline code reviews, and publish documentation in more than eight languages through public repositories and pull requests. The company also removed servers, reduced maintenance and security risks, and unified software and hardware testing in online workflows. As a result, Arduino accelerated collaboration, improved security, and scaled its community-driven development model, with 90% of its 120 employees using GitHub.
