Mercari simplifies its security and CI/CD with GitHub Advanced Security and Actions

Mercari, the fast-growing customer-to-customer shopping and payments company, needed a way to unify development across its expanding organization while improving CI/CD and security without adding more internal tools. To support that growth, Mercari turned to GitHub, using GitHub Advanced Security and GitHub Actions as part of its engineering workflow.

GitHub helped Mercari consolidate CI/CD and security automation, embed secret scanning and CodeQL into developers’ daily work, and streamline testing, provisioning, and scans through Actions. The result was less tool maintenance, faster issue resolution, improved security “shift left,” and org-wide secret scanning; Mercari also reported easier compliance support as it expands into regulated financial services.
