Mapbox, an open source mapping platform for developers, needed a better way to collaborate across a globally distributed team spanning five offices and six time zones. The company used GitHub to manage everything from engineering work to legal, finance, and internal communications, helping it replace separate tools with a single transparent workflow.

GitHub helped Mapbox organize more than 1,200 repositories and over 600 public repos, while cross-issue linking and integrations improved coordination across technical and non-technical teams. GitHub also supported a CLI integration that pulled blog content into Slack, saving the communications team time and making it easier to scale collaboration without changing existing ticket formats.
