Globant - Customer Case Study

Globant, a global digital transformation and IT services company with 9,000 employees across 48 offices, needed a version control and collaboration platform that could scale across a highly distributed workforce. After using Subversion and then WANdisco to add Git, Globant chose GitHub in 2017 to provide a familiar interface, self-provisioning, and a geo-distributed solution that would work across its offices and support developer preference.

With GitHub, Globant centralized its corporate services on two on-premises instances and integrated Jenkins to streamline deployments, while also enabling broader access for operations, writers, managers, security, QA, and other teams. The result was greater transparency, faster collaboration, and less administrative overhead; Globant reports 2,000 daily active GitHub users, expects to exceed 3,000, and is migrating one instance to GitHub.com to reduce maintenance, backups, and upgrades while keeping security and reliability high.
