Dominion Enterprises, a marketing services and publishing company with distributed technical teams across more than 100 offices, needed a secure, flexible version control platform that could support many different workflows. Its developers were already using GitHub.com, and the company wanted a familiar solution that would let teams share code and collaborate behind its firewall.

GitHub Enterprise was implemented to centralize source code in a corporately controlled system, and GitHub also supported training sessions to bring developers up to speed. As a result, Dominion Enterprises migrated most repositories to Git, improved onboarding, and made collaboration more efficient and transparent across teams, with about 30 million unique visitors per month across its sites.
