Decathlon, the world’s largest sporting goods retail brand, was facing the challenges of digital transformation, scattered repositories, limited workflow visibility with on-premise tools, and the need to better support remote collaboration across its 1,500-member IT team. To modernize its development practices, Decathlon chose GitHub Enterprise to help unify its engineering work and support a more open, cloud-based approach.

With GitHub, Decathlon consolidated 2,600 repositories into one place for about 1,000 users, improved collaboration and code reuse, and strengthened security with single sign-on and supporting tools. GitHub Dependabot helped identify and fix vulnerable or outdated libraries, and automation through GitHub Actions sped up releases, contributing to 350 releases since early 2019, with new production releases happening multiple times per day.
