Carlsberg unifies development on GitHub Enterprise and accelerates innovation with Copilot

Carlsberg, the global brewery behind brands like Tetley’s and Kronenbourg, wanted to modernize a fragmented development environment that forced engineers to act like DevOps specialists just to build and ship software. By standardizing on GitHub Enterprise and adding GitHub Copilot and GitHub Advanced Security, Carlsberg aimed to simplify tools, reduce friction, and improve both developer productivity and code security.

GitHub helped Carlsberg cut its toolchain from six tools to one platform, streamline CI/CD with GitHub Actions, and detect and prevent secrets in code. The company reported around 600 unknown secrets uncovered and then eliminated, reaching zero known secrets in software engineering repositories, while also improving collaboration, speeding deployments, and accelerating development with Copilot.
