Global NGO Improves HR with SAP and SharePoint

Global Children’s Aid Provider, a globally-managed United Nations program that delivers long-term humanitarian and developmental assistance to children and mothers, faced slow, paper-based HR processes while managing roughly 11,000 full‑time and up to 15,000 contingency workers worldwide. Frequent cross‑border transfers and rapid crisis hiring (e.g., during Ebola) exposed delays, high costs, and the need for browser-based, universally accessible employee records—so the organization selected Gimmal (using Gimmal Link and Gimmal Records with SAP and SharePoint) to address these challenges.

Gimmal implemented a SAP–SharePoint employee records and accounts payable solution: Gimmal Link stores and links HR paperwork in SharePoint to SAP transactions while Gimmal Records enforces a records‑management framework, consistent metadata, and global access controls. As a result, paper processing was eliminated, e‑paperwork now follows employees between countries, IT and HR records costs were dramatically reduced, the costly OpenText system was sunsetted, and HR processes were accelerated—freeing time and resources to focus on the organization’s humanitarian mission.
