Enhancing Records Capabilities and Compliance with SharePoint Implementation

The City of Bellevue, the fifth-largest city in Washington with more than 130,000 residents, was struggling with uncontrolled information growth, multiple disaggregated content repositories, rising IT support and maintenance costs, and growing compliance risk. To simplify ECM/RM, improve scalability, and reduce costs and risk, the City engaged Gimmal and deployed Gimmal Records on a SharePoint foundation.

Gimmal implemented a DoD 5015.2‑compliant records management solution using Gimmal Records and SharePoint, redirected spend away from the legacy Oracle Stellent system, and provided knowledge transfer and implementation services to ensure adoption. As a result, Gimmal helped Bellevue lower overall ECM/RM costs (below the legacy maintenance payment), centralize governance and retention policy management, improve search and access, boost end‑user productivity, and reduce compliance risk.
