SnipSnap, a mobile couponing app owned by Slyce, wanted to increase foot traffic to stores and drive more in-store coupon redemptions. The challenge was to move beyond generic broadcast push messages and deliver more relevant promotions to users at the right time and place. Gimbal provided the location-based marketing technology used in the campaign.

Gimbal implemented custom geofences around retailers’ stores and triggered targeted push notifications when app users were near a store, alerting them to nearby deals and promotions. The results were strong: the campaign produced a 233% increase in open rates with location triggers, reaching a 20% open rate for location-based messaging versus 5–7% without it. Gimbal also helped SnipSnap prove the accuracy and value of its location technology for highly targeted, actionable messaging.
