24 Hour Fitness, with more than 3 million members across 400+ clubs, wanted to strengthen loyalty while increasing new member sign-ups through social referrals. To do this, the company worked with Gigya to create an easy, seamless way to tap into members’ social networks and encourage more referrals without relying on a traditional brick-and-mortar program.

Gigya implemented an online and in-club social referral program that let members share free guest passes via social networks or email, while also enabling follow-up segmentation and influencer reporting. The results were strong: 24 Hour Fitness generated over 8,400 new direct referrals in January 2014, driving more than $600,000 in LTV revenue, and surpassed 331,500 referrals in the first three months, worth over $3 million in online media “street value.”
