Capcom, the Japanese video game publisher behind franchises like Devil May Cry, partnered with Gigya to support the relaunch of DmC with a mobile app that would boost engagement and connect the app experience to the console game. The challenge was to generate excitement around the franchise while creating a more holistic online and offline experience using Gigya’s Social Login and gamification capabilities.
Gigya implemented Social Login, gamification, and augmented reality in the DmC mobile app so users could log in easily, complete real-world scanning missions, and earn points redeemable in-game. The results included thousands of daily logins, users returning to the app an average of 6.1 times, and more than 1 million game sales in the first month after launch, showing strong engagement and measurable ROI from Gigya.
