A Gigya Case Study
DC Thomson Media, a leading British media company with magazines, newspapers, and online properties, was struggling to simplify its digital marketing stack while meeting GDPR requirements and creating a single customer view across multiple domains. Using Gigya’s SAP Customer Data Cloud, the company found that readers who registered on one site still appeared anonymous across the rest of its portfolio, because customer data was scattered across multiple platforms and databases.
Gigya implemented SAP Customer Identity as the identity layer for DC Thomson Media’s new marketing cloud, enabling single sign-on, a central login and preference center, and integration with tools like Magento, WordPress, Permutive, and Sailthru. The result was a 5x increase in registrations, a 16% uplift in pageviews, and an 800% rise in paid conversions from email campaigns, while GDPR compliance became manageable and registered users proved far more valuable than anonymous visitors.
