Societe Generale, a multinational investment bank and financial services company, needed a better way to unify data across 200 applications spanning pre-trade, risk management, accounting, and other systems. With different APIs for each system of record and only 99% infrastructure availability, the bank lacked a single source of truth and could not fully meet its service-level agreements. GigaSpaces was brought in to help address these data and reliability challenges.

GigaSpaces implemented Smart DIH as a data store and processing layer, giving Societe Generale a single API across 7 systems of record. The solution also used smart caching to speed up data access and real-time asynchronous replication between Paris, New York, London, and Hong Kong. As a result, Societe Generale improved global data consistency and trading-platform performance while strengthening availability and meeting its operational requirements.
