PriceRunner is a multinational price-comparison site serving about 10 million monthly visitors and updating 126 million prices daily. The company needed to deliver real-time comparisons during massive, unpredictable traffic spikes—up to 10–20x normal traffic around events like Black Friday—while maintaining low latency across a microservices architecture.
To solve this, PriceRunner adopted the InsightEdge Smart DIH platform as its primary data source across seven clusters, ingesting some 200 million merchant offers daily into a 16TB in-memory layer supporting 100+ microservices. The result: product page response times fell from 700 ms to under 300 ms, ingestion dropped from 24 hours to sub-second, the system scaled through 20x/500% traffic surges with no performance impact, and the team now ships 10–15 features to production daily.
