Seattle Cancer Care Alliance Selects Gigamon for Pervasive Visibility Across Virtual and Physical Infrastructure

Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (SCCA), a leading cancer treatment center combining expertise from Fred Hutch, UW Medicine and Seattle Children’s, needed pervasive visibility to protect sensitive patient data and ensure performance across a complex mix of physical and virtual systems. With about 200 VMs, dozens of critical applications, and the requirement to feed IDS/IPS and real-time analytics, SCCA faced the challenge of delivering the right traffic to multiple monitoring tools without disrupting clinical operations.

SCCA deployed the Gigamon Visibility Platform—including GigaVUE-VM, GigaVUE-HD4 and GigaSMART with Flow Mapping—to aggregate, filter and forward relevant traffic from 1Gb/10Gb links into Cisco SourceFire and ExtraHop. The solution improved security tool performance, enabled full use of IDS/IPS capacity, simplified monitoring across virtual and physical environments, and scaled easily as needs grew.
