Zain, a mobile and data operator serving over 40 million customers across the Middle East and Africa, needed to analyze network performance with multiple monitoring tools that required different traffic types. Because 2G/3G and 4G traffic arrived on the same port and video probes only needed video flows, Zain faced potential appliance overload, costly device duplication, and impractical port requirements on network switches.

Zain deployed a Gigamon Visibility Fabric (GigaVUE‑HC2 nodes with GigaSMART) to segment, filter and load‑balance traffic—presenting only 2G/3G to one probe, 4G to another, and distributing video traffic across appliances—while requiring a single switch connection. The result: avoided duplicate appliances, scalable load‑balanced monitoring, faster on‑boarding of new tools without consuming extra ports, and more efficient use of monitoring systems.
