Gigamon Teams with the European Broadcasting Union to Strengthen Its Traffic Visibility for Faster Incident Diagnosis and Network Security

Gigamon partnered with the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), the world’s leading alliance of public service media, to address limited network visibility across complex, non‑communicating broadcast systems. The EBU needed a global solution to capture east‑west VMware VM traffic, centralize monitoring and security tool access, and improve slow, partial diagnostics that previously analyzed only about 40% of traffic.

Using Gigamon’s Visibility Platform and GigaSECURE, implemented with partner Navixia after a short proof‑of‑concept, traffic is mirrored, filtered, encapsulated and aggregated to central analysis tools on demand. The deployment boosted visibility to 95% of traffic, reduced processing loads and tool counts, de‑duplicated traffic, and cut specific diagnostic captures from about two hours to five minutes, delivering faster incident diagnosis and rapid payback.
