BICS Develops New Business Intelligence Service for Mobile Operators

BICS, a global wholesale provider of international voice and mobile data services to over 400 operators, developed SMART Webvision — a near‑real‑time roaming monitoring, tracking and business‑intelligence service. To deliver SS7, LTE/Diameter and GRX data from some 30 global sites into centralized probes, BICS needed a scalable, flexible and manageable data‑collection overlay; placing and managing probes in every site was prohibitively expensive and created complex traffic‑correlation challenges.

BICS deployed a Gigamon Visibility Fabric (GigaVUE‑TA1, HB1 and HD4 nodes) to locally tap, filter and aggregate signaling and data traffic back to two central sites (Europe and Asia) using patented Flow Mapping®. The solution provided end‑to‑end visibility, avoided a costly probe expansion, reduced CAPEX/OPEX, and is already feeding central probes with growing traffic volumes; BICS is extending the platform for voice signalling and continues the phased rollout with global support.
