A Gigamon Case Study
KBC, an integrated banking and insurance group operating across several European countries, needed a simpler way to give multiple departments access to the same high‑volume network traffic without installing costly parallel fiber TAPs. With asymmetric routing and a multivendor environment handling more than 80 Gb/s, the bank faced growing complexity supporting security, monitoring and forensic tools that all required the same source data.
KBC deployed the Gigamon Visibility Platform across its data centers, terminating ERSPAN tunnels and aggregating traffic back to a single location so tools can be fed only the data they need. The solution reduced TAP‑related costs, improved scalability through load balancing and aggregation, cut processing and storage requirements via traffic filtering, and simplified multivendor operations while providing unified visibility for security, monitoring and forensics.
