PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI), the state-owned Indonesian railway serving over 500 million passengers and 70 million tons of freight annually, was struggling with rising operational costs and visibility blind spots as traffic volumes grew. Oversubscribed SPAN ports, limited real-time risk telemetry, costly infrastructure requirements for new security tools, and the need to meet EIT and PDP compliance drove the need for a centralized, efficient observability solution.

KAI deployed Gigamon (GigaVUE Cloud Suite, HC Series, GigaVUE‑FM and GigaSMART) to centralize deep observability, remove duplicate packets, and forward enriched telemetry to SIEM, NDR and IDS tools.
