Maximize GHX Solutions to Drive Continuous Performance Improvement

Seattle Children’s Hospital needed to improve order accuracy and reduce manual transactions conducted via phone, fax, and email with the majority of its vendors. They aimed to minimize costly exceptions and operational waste. To tackle this, they worked with vendor GHX, utilizing its eCommerce platform and the GHX Exchange.

GHX provided solutions to electronically submit purchase orders and receive acknowledgments through a single portal, which alerted buyers to discrepancies in near real-time. For suppliers not on the network, GHX implemented its MetaTrade solution to convert electronic orders into fax or email. As a result, the hospital now transmits 91% of its orders electronically, increased its electronic trading partners from 30 to 230, and drastically reduced its exception rates for price, part numbers, backorders, and unit of measure, all well below the GHX customer average.
