Guy’s and St Thomas’ adopted GHX Exchange transaction platform to benefit from electronic ordering and invoicing

Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust needed to convert a manual procurement process into an automated one and future-proof its purchasing and invoicing as demand grew. The Trust adopted the GHX Exchange transaction platform to support electronic ordering and invoicing, integrating it with existing Omnicell stock cabinets and Oracle Finance System.

GHX implemented automated purchase ordering and e-invoicing through GHX Exchange, creating a “touchless” purchase-to-pay process with real-time status visibility and automatic invoice translation. The results included a £4m accounting surplus, a large reduction in stock holding and waste, 45% more invoices processed per Accounts Payable clerk, and monthly volumes of 6,000 purchase orders and 8,000 electronic invoices handled through GHX.
