Allina Health Improves Efficiency, Accuracy of Bill-Only & Consignment Order Processing

Allina Health, a not-for-profit health system, faced a significant challenge in managing approximately $95 million in bill-only and consignment spend after a 10% reduction in its supply chain workforce. Their outdated, manual processes for order processing were time-consuming, led to pricing errors, and delayed supplier payments. To address this, they partnered with vendor GHX.

GHX implemented its Marketplace Bill Only solution, a virtual e-commerce platform, to automate and authorize these orders. This was later optimized with the GHX Marketplace mobile edition for barcode scanning. The results were substantial; Allina Health processed this high-volume spend with fewer staff, achieved 10% greater contract compliance, and captured 11.2% more spend under management, leading to a more efficient case-to-payment cycle.
