Case Study: IMAS NV improves ERP and VoIP performance with GFI Software Exinda

IMAS NV, the IT operations subsidiary of Van Genechten Packaging, needed a better way to manage application performance across 13 European locations after its Blue Coat PacketShaper failed to resolve ongoing ERP and VoIP issues. Employees were dealing with slow ERP response times, jittery calls, and dropped VoIP sessions, while IT also needed a simpler tool that remote office staff could understand and use effectively. GFI Software’s Exinda application control solution was evaluated as a replacement.

GFI Software implemented Exinda appliances at the data center and affiliate offices, along with Exinda Management Center for centralized policy control. IMAS used the solution to prioritize ERP and VoIP traffic, identify traffic spikes, and simplify WAN management, cutting network monitoring and troubleshooting from 8 hours a week to 30 minutes. The company also improved VoIP quality, stabilized ERP performance, and gained centralized visibility and reporting across all sites.
