Unifying Experience for Best Cities Global Forum 2020 Speakers and Delegates

BestCities Global Alliance, a network of 12 leading convention bureaus, needed to pivot its annual BestCities Global Forum 2020 — “Rethinking the Future of Events” — into a hybrid format because of the pandemic. The organisers required a simple, robust solution that unified physical and virtual attendees, provided safe touchless check-in, and delivered engaging experiences (including a Virtual Bar) with an easy “one-click” transition between in-person and online participation.

GEVME implemented touchless kiosks for safe on-site check-in, the GEVME Live platform as the unified digital venue, and GEVME Meet to power the Virtual Bar and secure video interactions, supported by onsite Digital Event Managers. Attendees scanned tickets to receive unique links to join Live, access on-demand content, download materials and use interactive Q&A/chat widgets — resulting in a seamless hybrid event, broader global reach across time zones, high engagement between physical and virtual audiences, and positive organiser and participant feedback.
