Iceland, the UK frozen food retailer with 740+ stores, needed to improve IT resiliency and flexibility as consumer demand pushed stores to open longer hours and cope with seasonal peaks. To support this, Iceland worked with Getronics on managed IT services including a service desk, desktop support, hardware break-fix, and infrastructure and data centre services.

Getronics implemented a fully managed 24x7x365 hosting and systems management service, including virtualising Iceland’s server infrastructure and hosting it at the Getronics National Data Centre with failover to Iceland’s own secondary data centre. The solution supports about 950 users and handles roughly 13,000 service desk calls per year, helping Iceland resolve issues quickly, reduce store downtime, and maintain reliable business-critical applications and core services.
