Getronics Successfully Completes Timescale Critical Move of Superdrug Data Centre

Superdrug, one of the UK’s leading health and beauty retailers, needed to consolidate its IT infrastructure by moving its UK midrange systems from the Getronics-hosted data centre in Cheshire to the AS Watson European Data Centre in London. The company also wanted to add high availability to its core iSeries platform, all within very tight business timelines and with minimal disruption to store operations.

Getronics delivered the move through careful planning and staged migration of Superdrug’s warehouse, data warehouse and core iSeries systems, then implemented a high availability solution with a sister iSeries system in the Netherlands and iCluster replication. The project was completed seamlessly with minimal service impact, and Superdrug reported that it met its hosting and disaster recovery objectives on time and to budget.
