A Getronics Case Study
Smals, a Belgian non-profit supporting public institutions in social security and health care, needed a new Brussels data centre built quickly and a standardized infrastructure solution for multiple sites. Getronics won the tender for racks, cooling systems, and cabling, and was tasked with creating a 1,000 m² facility from scratch under a tight deadline.
Getronics transformed the white space into a fully operational data centre within months, adding racks, high-density cooling, and cabling while also advising Smals on a pre-configured, future-proof fibre optic solution. The rollout was completed with a zero-error rate, key parts were live by the end of 2012, and the rack configuration became the standard for Smals’ Anderlecht data centre and future facilities, helping Smals respond faster to member demand.
