United Way Boosts Volunteer Engagement with Galaxy Digital

United Way for Southeastern Michigan, which serves three counties and the city of Detroit, faced limited volunteer engagement: its website listed only a handful of repeat opportunities, recruitment relied heavily on corporate partners, and many individual volunteers either didn’t find suitable matches or failed to show up. To expand outreach, match volunteers to causes, and better publicize opportunities, United Way adopted the Get Connected by Galaxy Digital platform (Get Connected) as its volunteer management solution.

Using Get Connected by Galaxy Digital (launched March 2017), United Way onboarded 23 of its initial 25 target agencies and has since more than doubled active agencies on the site. The platform’s CRM integration, reporting, reminder emails, private corporate-event features and interest-based outreach increased public registrations and improved individual attendance, enabled targeted volunteer matching and recognition (including an individual who logged nearly 300 hours), and helped convert corporate participants into recurring community volunteers—results United Way attributes directly to Get Connected by Galaxy Digital.
