Willamalane Park and Recreation District, a public parks and recreation agency in Springfield, Oregon, faced an outdated, paper-based volunteer system that limited sign-ups to office hours, lost paperwork, and made it hard to recruit and manage volunteers across 46 parks and multiple facilities. To modernize outreach and administration, Willamalane selected the volunteer management platform Get Connected by Galaxy Digital.
Willamalane launched Get Connected by Galaxy Digital in January 2018 and replaced manual processes with online sign-ups, automated notifications, volunteer check‑in, hours tracking, dashboards, and volunteer résumés. The result: registered volunteers grew from about 150 to 550 (more than tripling the pool), faster recruitment across neighboring communities and demographics, clearer impact reporting for the Board, and measurable time and cost savings in program management.
