IMTS improves wayfinding for 89,020 registrants with GES

The International Manufacturing Technology Show (IMTS) faced a significant challenge in helping its large number of attendees navigate its massive, multi-building event at McCormick Place in Chicago. To address this complex wayfinding issue and improve the overall attendee experience, IMTS partnered with vendor GES for a creative solution.

GES implemented a bold, color-coded wayfinding system featuring eight-foot-tall building directories and directional carpeting that guided attendees through the expansive venue. This solution had a measurable impact, successfully enhancing navigation for the 89,020 registrants and contributing to a highly engaged atmosphere, with the show chair noting it was their best IMTS for quality engagements.
