ReadingWise improves reading age by 9 months in 20 hours with Gera-IT

ReadingWise, a provider of literacy intervention tools for students with special educational needs, faced the challenge of building its entire e-learning application from the ground up. The company needed Gera-IT to develop a program that could improve students' reading skills without hands-on teacher assistance and be universally compatible with the outdated software and hardware used in schools across the UK.

Gera-IT designed and built the application using Ruby on Rails, creating four core learning modules for decoding, comprehension, phonics, and vocabulary. The solution included a teacher's dashboard for progress monitoring. As a result of this work, students using ReadingWise for just 20 hours saw an average reading age improvement of nine months, and the program became a relied-upon literacy tool for schools in multiple countries.
