A GEP Case Study
A leading U.S.-based auto-parts OEM (about $1.5B in revenue) faced a sharp pandemic-driven surge in orders for off-road, performance and military vehicles in 2020. The company relied on slow, manual processes and spreadsheets and had limited demand-planning capabilities, which caused backorders, service misses and difficulty forecasting and planning inventory.
Partnering with GEP, the OEM conducted process and gap assessments, deployed custom RPA tools for order intake, and implemented a demand-planning analytics playbook with SKU-level segmentation and digital forecasting tools. The overhaul automated key order processes, saved an estimated 9,000–12,000 labor hours annually, delivered an estimated 275% ROI, reduced order cycle times, improved order accuracy, and strengthened forecasting and inventory control to better handle demand volatility.
