A leading American retailer with more than $5 billion in revenue and over 5,000 associated stores faced fragmented, non-standard procurement processes, low purchase-order compliance, and limited spend visibility across its multiple brands. The company sought a center-led source-to-pay (S2P) transformation to improve spend and contract management, surface savings opportunities, and translate them into hard-dollar results across categories like IT/telecom, construction, facilities, store supplies and marketing.
GEP delivered a four‑pronged transformation—centralizing procurement into a COE, redesigning S2P processes, rolling out governance and training, and deploying the SMART by GEP unified S2P platform—completing 32 transformation projects and 100+ sourcing initiatives. The solution standardized operations, improved reporting and supplier/contract management, sped invoice processing, and has generated $110 million in OPEX savings to date.
