A GEP Case Study
A Fortune Global 500 tire manufacturer with $30 billion in annual revenue and more than 150 plants engaged GEP to transform fragmented, decentralized procurement across the Asia‑Pacific region. The client faced poor spend visibility, heavy time spent on low‑value tactical tasks and limited sourcing capability, and wanted to centralize and standardize procurement, increase spend under management, accelerate savings and build a multiyear roadmap to make procurement a strategic function.
GEP designed a new operating model and three‑year digital procurement roadmap, deployed GEP SMART for spend analysis, sourcing and eAuctions, co‑developed category playbooks and governance, ran a one‑year co‑sourcing program and established a regional shared‑services buying center. The initiative delivered a 10–15% increase in savings, raised spend under management to more than 85% (over $400M), improved visibility and accuracy, and freed procurement to focus on higher‑value strategic activities.
