A GEP Case Study
A leading U.S.-based automotive parts manufacturer serving global customers faced sudden raw-material shortages after pandemic lockdowns in early 2020. Stock-outs, extended lead times, poor information flow and weak cross-functional coordination threatened production continuity and the company needed a fast, sustainable solution to fulfill orders and futureproof its supply chain.
GEP mapped the end-to-end supply chain, conducted gap and root-cause analyses, realigned processes and created a joint roadmap, while identifying 33 short-, medium- and long-term alternative sourcing opportunities. The interventions restored production, increased material visibility from 1–10 weeks to 12 months, reduced disruption risk and delivered an estimated $7–12 million in annual value.
