Global Cosmetics Leader Exceeds Supplier DEI Goals by 20% by Partnering With GEP

A Fortune Global 500 beauty and cosmetics company partnered with GEP to boost sustainability and social inclusion in its China indirect procurement ecosystem. The client set DEI targets to create employment for 500 people in 2021 (and 1,500 by 2023) and needed a strategic approach, operating model, RACI, templates and execution support to engage suppliers from underprivileged communities.

GEP evaluated more than 450 suppliers, conducted market research and localized the global DEI strategy for China, then defined roles, processes, templates and governance and collaborated with NGOs to onboard inclusive suppliers. The initiative exceeded the 2021 target by 20%, delivered reusable assets and clear RACI charts, improved supplier collaboration, empowered the indirect procurement team and produced a 10-year target based on performance benchmarking.
