A GEP Case Study
A major U.S. food and beverage company with annual revenues over $4 billion and more than 300 brands faced fragmented supplier and spend data across multiple legacy ERPs. The disparate systems caused duplicate vendor records, poor classification of direct, indirect and finished goods, and limited enterprise-wide spend visibility, preventing the company from identifying sourcing and savings opportunities without external expertise and automation.
GEP deployed its AI-powered, cloud-native GEP SMART platform to aggregate and normalize historical spend from the legacy ERPs, remove duplicate supplier records, and apply a client-customized taxonomy with parent–child linkages. The solution delivered enterprise-wide visibility, reduced 62,000 legacy supplier names to 33,000 standardized suppliers, achieved over 95% classification accuracy with refreshes under three days, and revealed new sourcing and savings opportunities.
