Isatis Improves Model Quality and Constitutes a Natural Extension of Reservoir Characterization Systems

Beicip-Franlab, France, needed a more efficient way to handle very large reservoir modeling studies and improve model quality. In its work on projects in Algeria, Mexico, and the Middle East, the team used Geovariances’ Isatis alongside the IFP group’s 3D Modeling package RML to support complex geostatistical modeling and data transfer.

Geovariances’ Isatis was integrated as a natural extension of RML, improving productivity through smoother data transfer, batch procedures, and customized journal files. The solution proved robust with huge models, including grids of several million cells and one study with seven stacked grids of about 30 million cells each, enabling automated calculations and helping Beicip-Franlab deliver accurate models with a good level of productivity.
