A Geovariances Case Study
Ifremer Lemar, through the Marine Environmental Science Laboratory LEMAR, studied the origin and spread of marine viral diseases in oysters. To better identify regional risk factors, the team needed to analyze oyster mortality alongside about twenty environmental parameters across 46 sites over six months, and it used Geovariances’ Isatis software for spatial epidemiology and mapping.
Geovariances’ Isatis provided automated workflows, easy variogram adjustment, multivariate analysis, and dynamic spatial visualization to speed up the study. Using scripting functions, the team generated 350 maps in half an hour and quickly isolated about a dozen parameters that helped explain oyster mortality, with follow-up maps produced almost immediately.
