Eramet Group Makes Good Use of Geovariances Competencies

Eramet Nickel Division worked with Geovariances to improve resource evaluation and recoverable ore estimation as grades declined and mining decisions became more complex. The challenge was to better estimate tonnages, grades, and supply risk for nickel and manganese projects while adapting methods to local geological conditions and production planning needs, using Geovariances’ Isatis software and related geostatistical expertise.

Geovariances supported Eramet Nickel Division with software enhancements, applied studies, and on-site training, including conditional simulations, local uniform conditioning, scenario reduction, and multivariate geostatistical methods. This led to improved resource estimation methodology at the Tiébaghi mine, routine updates of recoverable resource estimates, better optimization of operations, and stronger internal skills; Geovariances also delivered new Isatis modules such as G2DC and S2RM, helping Eramet achieve more reliable estimation and decision-making.
