The Landings Association tracks damage to 55 properties with GeothinQ

The Landings Association, a property owners association for a residential community on Skidaway Island, faced the challenge of quickly surveying and categorizing widespread structural damage to over 55 properties following a tornado associated with Tropical Storm Hermine. They turned to their vendor, GeothinQ (now operating as Latapult), to utilize its mobile data collection capabilities for this time-sensitive task.

The solution implemented was using Latapult on iPads to conduct mobile data collection sweeps of the hardest-hit areas, which allowed for real-time tracking of damage on each property lot. This enabled the association to efficiently issue restoration permits and visualize the data on a centralized platform. The results were a successful damage assessment that mirrored the National Weather Service's tornado path estimate and a system to chart reconstruction statuses for over a year. The utility of this solution was proven again when Latapult was used to survey damage to over 400 homes following Hurricane Matthew shortly thereafter.
