A Geotab Case Study

Preview of the Indianapolis EMS Case Study

Indianapolis EMS Serving the community while maintaining the fleet

Indianapolis EMS needed a better way to keep its ambulance fleet and first responder teams safe, while also improving maintenance and controlling fuel costs. After a fatal ambulance crash, the agency turned to Geotab and the Geotab GO telematics device to gain better visibility into vehicle location, driving behavior, and equipment use across its fleet.

Geotab helped Indianapolis EMS roll out tracking across the entire ambulance fleet, enabling staff to monitor fault codes, reduce idling, and identify unnecessary wear and tear. The results were immediate: Indianapolis EMS cut nearly half of its total idle time within weeks, reduced brake wear by encouraging more conservative driving, and gained real-time situational awareness for ambulances, support vehicles, bicycles, and foot teams during major events.
